Sept. 19, 2024 — Enjoy a day of family-fun, focusing on health! Participate in a variety of activities focusing on physical and environmental health at Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center, Saturday, Oct. 5, at its Head for the Hilltop event.
The day kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with a Kids Fun Run, followed by a 5K at 9 a.m.; registration is open. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be a variety of family-fun activities, including free outdoor fitness classes and children’s activities. Health and wellness vendors will be on site and refreshments will be on sale. There will also be opportunities to participate in volunteer projects, and more.
Westchester County Executive George Latimer said, “Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center is the County’s education center that focuses on the development and advancement of sustainable agriculture, environmental stewardship, community education, and accessible food systems for all. Participants will have top tier educators teaching them how to nurture the environment while they also learn ways to maintain their physical health.”
Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation, Kathy O’Connor said, “This first-of-its-kind event at Hilltop Hanover Farm and Environmental Center offers participants a unique opportunity to learn how to care for the environment in addition to learning more about one’s health and wellness, as both are important in everyday life.”
Parking and admission to the event are free. There are registration fees for the Kids Fun Run and 5K.
