It’s sugaring season in Westchester County! We have events across the county that will give you a hands-on tree tapping experience as well as opportunities to learn about the process and even taste nature’s sweet reward: maple syrup!
Saturday, Feb. 1
- Family Tapping Experience at Trailside Nature Museum, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join the Trailside staff for a personal tapping experience. Learning how we tap the trees to get sap to then make our very own maple syrup. You and your family will get a half-hour timeslot. $25 per family of four. Pre-registration is required. - Sugar Shack Chats at Muscoot Farm, noon to 3 p.m.

This cooking class will be in Muscoot’s Activity Building for $20 per person, for adults and kids ages 6 and up. Treats may range from sweet to savory, so bring your appetite! Also: March 8. Pre-register.

Join us for our annual sugaring-off party to end the wonderful season of maple sugaring! Indulge in a pancake breakfast and lots of maple sweet treats. We will show how the evaporator works and give tapping demonstrations. We will also have live music. Co-sponsored by the Friends of Trailside Nature Museum. This event is free, but pre-registration is required.
